Be it french horn, trombone, tuba, or trumpet, it is important for every brass player to have a clean, fully functional, and properly set up instrument.  Care and maintenance should involve a periodic visit to the shop. At Kingston Winds, we feel the following services should be performed once a year and are a standard part of an annual cleaning & maintenance in our shop.

    •    Thorough Cleaning – slide exteriors are hand ragged and fitted.

    •    Internal surfaces are cleaned using our own unique process that does not involve the use of harsh chemicals.

    •    Dents are removed and hand burnished.

    •    Valve alignment is optimized through the use of mirrors and play testing.

    •    Slides are fitted to air tight tolerances and full operability.

    •    Corks and felts are replaced. Valve springs are replaced as needed.

    •    The instrument is reassembled using quality lubricants.

    •    Play testing is standard for all instruments.
